Unfurling, collaboration with Russell Anderson
Timari Street, Pacific Paradise, Sunshine Coast, Australia
Weathering steel, stainless steel, led lights, sensors and sandblasted concrete.

Unfurling: the coil of a snake, the curl of a fern frond, a sundew flower about to unwind its honey trap. The Pouched Coral Fern (Gleichenia dicarpa) dips its feet into the tea-coloured waters of the wetlands as it traces an ever-branching and unfurling path through the Wallum. Springing from fire-charred earth and the winter dry, the optimism of new growth and renewal of nature’s abundance is unleashed in a glorious tangle of delicate fronds.
